Resurfacing and drainage work will begin on the B9134 from Aberlemno to Brechin from Friday 10 November and is scheduled to last for approximately 11 working days. The works will be carried out under a road closure. The signed diversion route will be: B9134 - A932 – A933 – A934 – A92 – A935 and the reverse.

The rest centre at Montrose Sports Centre closed at midday today. The centre at Forfar Community Campus is currently under review. Brechin Community Campus, where demand for a rest centre has been greatest, remains open today and may be stood down tomorrow - but only once alternative accommodation has been found for everyone.

Storm Babet update (as at 8.30pm): The latest modelling from @SEPA is that river levels on the South Esk could reach an unprecedented 5m above normal levels. The Brechin flood defences are designed to deal with river levels of 3.8m. This means that there is a serious risk to life from excessive flooding.
