Supporting the Gaelic language

We have produced a Gaelic Language Plan, setting out our ambitions for Gaelic.

Our aim is to contribute to the Scottish Government’s vision of safeguarding the future sustainability of the Gaelic language by enhancing the profile of the language, and providing more opportunities for our communities to communicate in Gaelic.

Since 1995 we have actively supported the Gaelic language through formal primary education. To find out more visit our Gaelic education page.

For information on what’s happening nationally to promote the Gaelic language visit the Gaelic Board’s website.
