Housing Grants Privacy Statement

What personal information do we collect about you?

The information you are supplying to us (for which the council is the Data Controller), including names, contact details and medical details are collected to the extent this is required under the Housing (Scotland) Act 2006.

What is my data used for?

We use your information to process your application for a Housing Grant.

How long will you keep my information?

The council will retain your information in line with statutory requirements for 10 years from our decision.

Sharing information

While processing your application the council may check information provided by you, or information about you provided by a third party, with other information held by us such as occupational therapy and Tayside Joint Valuation Board. We may also get information from certain third parties or share information with them in order to check its accuracy, prevent and detect crime, protect public funds or where required by law. It may therefore be necessary to undertake checks of the information provided and to do this it is necessary to pass the information contained in the completed application forms to the council's finance, social work and other council sections.

We will not share your information with any other organisations unless required to do so by law.
