Skills and Employability Employer Privacy Notice

What we need and why

The council is the ‘Data Controller’ of the company data you provide to us. We only collect data about the company which we require to provide the service requested.  The company data is held on servers within the UK and processed by our staff in the UK. 

Information required to provide you with the service requested may include all or some of the following:

  • Name and Address
  • Contact Number
  • Email Address
  • Main Contact
  • Sector
  • Company Profiles

The data will be used in conjunction with the employability programmes and as such will be used for the following purposes:

  • to allow the Skills and Employability Team to monitor the success and performance of services offered and to undertake evaluations
  • to contact you for feedback regarding the quality of services provided to the company
  • to ensure compliance with financial regulations and contractual obligations.

Who your information may be shared with

The company’s data will be shared with the following organisations:

  • Local Employability Partnership (LEP) partners for Get Ready for Work (GRfW), Long Term Unemployed (LTU) and Employer Recruitment Incentive (ERI)
  • Funders, administrators and auditors of the project, e.g. Audit Scotland

The company’s data may be shared with other organisations where there is a legal obligation to do so. Other organisations may include Government Agencies, such as the Department of Work & Pensions and Skills Development Scotland. The company’s data will be exchanged electronically between parties using secure systems/encryption.

How long we keep your information 

The company’s information and data are kept for 7 years from the company’s exit from our service.  At this point the data will be deleted from our system.  This data is kept for statistical information, audit and financial regulations to comply with service delivery and public task.

What are your rights

If at any point you believe the information we process on the company is incorrect you may request to see this information and have it corrected/deleted.  Further information is available on the council’s website (Full Privacy Statement).

If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled the company’s data, you can contact our Data Protection Officer who will investigate the matter.  If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing the company’s data not in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
