Local bus service contracts in the Angus Council area (2017)
A number of local bus services operated under contract to Angus Council are due for renewal in late May 2018. These are services which operate with financial support from the council in order to maintain vital public transport links for the community.
The contract renewal exercise is already underway with a number of on-bus surveys being undertaken in order to identify the travel patterns of existing bus users and seek their views on the current levels of service provision. As part of the contract renewal process it is also important that the wider community is consulted in order to ascertain any unmet travel demands and identify requests for changes to the service level, timings or routes of the contracts in question.

It is planned that tenders will be invited from local bus operators in late 2017 / early 2018. The costs returned to us by local bus service operators will then form part of the council’s budget setting process for the financial year 2018/2019 with new and/or revised contracts commencing in late May 2018.
