Standard bus permit

Summary
A permit holder can carry up to 16 passengers excluding the driver. Permits are necessary so that voluntary groups and other bodies can charge (on a non-profit making basis) for providing transport for their own members or other people whom the organisation serves without having to comply with the full PSV requirements.

A permit is normally issued to a specific group e.g. a scout group and the group may be issued with more than one permit but can only use one vehicle at a time under each permit.
Licence period
When a permit is granted there is no expiry date allocated to this.
