To request the removal of a dead animal use our online form giving the exact location. We will not uplift dead animals from private ground.
For dead animals on the A92 or A90 contact BEAR Scotland via their website or by calling 0800 028 1414.
We will scan dogs and cats for micro-chips and use the information provided to contact the owner if possible. We will keep pets for a period of 48 hours for collection by their owner.
Seals and other marine animals
Dead seals ‒ or other marine animals ‒ that have been washed ashore should be reported immediately to the Scottish Strandings co-ordinator on 01463 243030, giving:
- the precise location of the animal
- time and date
- condition of the animal
- species, if known
Do not approach or touch stranded seals whether dead or alive as they can carry disease. We will remove dead seals of no interest to the Scottish Strandings co-ordinator, where accessible.
Injured or weak animals
We do not remove or uplift dead domestic pets. This is the responsibility of the pet owner.
