- addresses for new multiple properties (including subdivision or merging of existing properties)
- new street names
- a change of existing house name
- an address for an unlisted existing single property

- your name and contact details (phone number and email address)
- details of the request
- references for relevant planning or building warrant applications (for example "planning application 16/00075/full")

Once we have received your request and payment we will process your application. The time it takes depends on the nature and complexity of the request.
Single property naming or numbering usually takes several days. However, as postcode information must be sought from Royal Mail, this is not a guarantee. Allow at least one full calendar month for your request to be processed.
Naming new streets may take several months as wider consultation is necessary.
Postcodes
We notify Royal Mail of all new addresses and changes to current addresses. Once they confirm the postcode we will pass on the full address for the property or properties. Angus Council has no control over the time taken by Royal Mail to confirm the postcode
