Naming new streets

If you are a developer and require street names and addresses for new properties, contact our roads business unit by emailing rdsstreetnaming@angus.gov.uk approximately three months before completion of the first house. Include suggestions for street names and attach a site layout, preferably in an electronic drawing format, such as AutoCAD DWG or DXF.

Local councillors decide on new street names. You can object to the proposed name if you dislike it.

You will be informed of the new postal addresses, and given a plan showing the house numbers.

The addresses will be registered with Royal Mail and the local delivery office. Other interested parties such as other council services, emergency services, electoral registrars, public utilities, Ordnance Survey, satellite navigation companies and cartographers are informed.

There is a charge for providing new street names and property addresses.
