Making changes

Changing the agreed attendance pattern in an Angus Council setting can only be done when the setting is admitting a new intake of children, and only if they can meet your new needs.

Request a change of sessions at your child's current ELC setting.

Private nurseries, playgroups and childminders may be able to be more flexible.

Buying more hours

If you need more ELC than is funded, you can buy additional hours or sessions from most private nurseries, playgroups or childminders if they have places available. You cannot currently buy additional hours or sessions from Angus Council settings.

Remember buying additional hours is optional. Settings must not charge for additional hours to allow your child to get their funded ELC at that setting. For example, if your child is entitled to five hours a day, you should not have to pay for an additional two hours to make up a full day. If this happens, please tell us.

Using fewer hours

Families can choose to use all or just part of their child’s funded entitlement of ELC hours. You are not able to bank any funded ELC hours you have booked but don’t use.

Pick-ups and drop-offs

It is best for children if there are regular pick-up and drop-off times. This allows children to settle and engage in learning experiences. You can pick up your child early or drop off later, if necessary, but we ask that this is done by prior arrangement wherever possible.
