Summer fun

This summer we are offering, with local partner organisations, a range of fun, free/affordable activities for children, young people and families.

Below is a list of opportunities we and our partners have planned. We’ve highlighted some of the larger events first and then split information by location. 

You can also use the map at the end of the page to see what’s on by location.


ANGUSalive

We are pleased to offer you the chance to apply for a funded membership (for eight weeks). Limited places available with eligibility criteria/first come, first served basis. Applications closed Friday 25 June.


Monikie Country Park

Family inclusive orienteering on 9 July 2021, 11am to 12noon. For age 5 to 12 book on ANGUSalive website or for 12 years upwards book at ANGUSalive website.

Family inclusive bike session – dates and times available on ANGUSalive website.


Voluntary Action Angus

Various events suitable for children aged 4 to 11 years. Find out more on the VAA website and book a place online.


Murton Trust (visitor farm, tearoom, nature reserve)

Forfar DD8 2RZ

Murton Trust is offering free access to everyone who lives in Angus during the school summer holidays. There are various events on through the holidays including animal handing, rucksack rambles, scavenger hunts, plus much more. Visit their website for information and to book a place.

The JP Coach bus number 117 takes you to Murton Trust.


Brechin Golf Club: footgolf with lunch

Every weekday (apart from Wednesday) from Monday 28 June to Friday 6 August. Booking essential on 01356 625270 as limited spaces available.


Angus Cycle Hub

Free bikes through the Angus Cycle Hub smiles for miles scheme. You can be referred to the scheme by one of their partner agencies (Angus Council, Voluntary Action Angus or New Solutions) or an Angus Cycle Hub staff member.

A fun session with music and stories for children with additional support needs delivered by a multi-agency team.

Each group runs once each week for around an hour on Wednesday afternoons from 1.30 to 2.30pm using Microsoft Teams.
