PPASC (Protecting People Angus Strategic Committee)

The PPASC (Protecting People Angus Strategic Committee) has responsibility for protecting people in Angus from harm. This encompasses:

  • Child protection

  • Adult support and protection

  • Gender based violence

Representatives

PPASC has a range of statutory, private, and voluntary organisation representatives including:

  • Angus Council

  • Police Scotland

  • NHS Tayside

  • Gender based violence services

  • Advocacy Services

  • A representative of the wider third sector

PPASC is chaired by an Independent Chair. Committee meetings are held in person on a bi-monthly basis.

Delivery groups

The work of PPASC is taken forward by five delivery groups:

  • Prevention

  • Self-Evaluation and Continuous Improvement

  • Data

  • Practice and Policy

  • Workforce Learning and Development

The committee structure allows individuals to be considered within the wider ‘whole family’ context by one strategic multi-agency committee.

This should allow for smoother transitions work and efficiencies with members attending committee and delivery group meetings.

The model allows for greater connectivity across the multi-agency workforce, with those from different specialisms having a forum where their work comes together to keep people in Angus safe.
