Remove all personal data before you dispose of mobile phones and tablets.
If your mobile phone or tablet is still working it can be reused.
There are many shops and online schemes where you can donate or sell your phone or tablet. For example:
Mobile phones and tablets go in the small electricals skip. If possible, remove the battery and put it in the same skip.
Never put mobile phones or tablets in your purple bin or the nonrecyclable (general) waste skip at recycling centres. They can be a fire hazard if crushed.
It is also a lost opportunity to recover valuable materials such as lithium, gold and rare earth metals from these devices.
