Grey bins

You can put the following in your grey bin:

  • newspapers, magazines and brochures
  • office grade paper
  • junk mail
  • phone directories
  • catalogues
  • books
  • envelopes (including those with windows)

Recycling centres

You can also take paper to any recycling centre.

Hard-backed books and catalogues go in the nonrecyclable (general) waste skip.

Please don't tie bundles of paper together as string is a contaminant.

Not accepted in grey bins or recycling centres

  • paper potato and seed sacks
  • shiny/metallic paper

This goes in your purple bin or in the nonrecyclable (general) waste skip at Arbroath, Forfar and Montrose recycling centres.
