When you buy a new vape, the retailer has a legal responsibility to take back your old vape for safe disposal or advise where the nearest safe disposal site is. Or you can dispose of your vape as follows.
Remove the battery from the vape if you can.
You can put the vape in the small electrical skip at any of our recycling centres or one of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) banks. There are WEEE banks at:
- Westway Retail Park, Arbroath
- The Park, Farnell Road, Friockheim
- Millennium Hall car park, Birkhill
Never put vapes in your household bins.
Batteries
You can dispose of the battery at any recycling centre. Many supermarkets and retailers also accept batteries for recycling. Never put batteries in your household bins.
Pods and refills
These count as nonrecyclable (general) waste. They can go in your purple bin or the nonrecyclable waste skips at Arbroath, Carnoustie, Forfar and Montrose recycling centres.
The cardboard packaging can go in your grey bin or the cardboard skip at any recycling centre.
