Venues
Your ceremony can take place anywhere indoors or outdoors in Angus.
Angus boasts a wide choice of exceptional venues for marriage and civil partnership celebrations: from historic venues to local castles, country houses and hotels.
Or you might like to hold the ceremony at your own special venue or place, perhaps in your own home or garden.

Dates
You can book your civil wedding as far ahead as you like.
It can be on any day of the week, including Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays (except Christmas Day and New Year's Day).
Once you have decided on a day, time, and venue, complete our online enquiry form:
Book a registrar to conduct your ceremony
We will then contact you to discuss availability and details for your requested date.
If you wish to go ahead with a booking, you will be asked to pay a £45.00 non-refundable deposit within seven days of the booking to confirm your booking.
If the wedding goes ahead, this deposit payment will be deducted from your overall fee.
The ceremony
Your ceremony is unique to you. We will be happy to personalise your ceremony to suit your requirements. You are welcome to include readings, your own personal vows, or other additions such as handfasting or quaich ceremonies.
Feel free to ask family and friends to contribute to your day. However, the ceremony itself must be conducted by one of our authorised registrars or assistant registrars.

The above fees include:
- statutory fees for Civil Marriage Notice at £45 per person
- one marriage certificate at £10
- ceremony fee of £55
- accommodation fee where applicable
- an additional premium for weddings in the evening, Saturday, Sunday or public holidays
*The lower fee applies to a registration office ceremony where there are only 4 people present: the couple and 2 witnesses. Check with your local office to see the maximum amount of guests who can be present at your ceremony.
Prices are reviewed every year and are subject to slight increases.
Weddings taking place in Arbroath or Montrose libraries are subject to a separate hire fee. Forfar Canmore Room does not have extra charges.
