Angus Council was selected to deliver the new Incredible Years Autism Spectrum and Language Delay programme — and we’re proud to share the positive impact it’s having!

Two of our Family Nurture Support Workers, Kate and Sarah, were trained through the Psychology of Parenting Programme (PoPP). Working in partnership with (Community Paediatricians, Principal Teacher ASN, Autism Teacher, Peripatetic ASN Teacher  and Tayside Speech & Language Therapy Service, they identified and referred families who would benefit and offered a face-to-face group and online group to the families.

Eight families completed the face-to-face group in Arbroath and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Parents told us they felt less isolated, appreciated the chance to share tips and experiences, and found the course content insightful and practical.

Many highlighted the warm, supportive environment created by our skilled group leaders as one of the most valuable parts of the experience.

Our online group also recently finished, and three families took part. We’re looking forward to hearing their feedback!

We’re excited to continue to support more families through the next round of this group.
