Day care for adults with learning disabilities

Lochlands Resource Centre, Arbroath

Lochlands Resource Centre can provide places for men and women with learning disabilities and can cater for those with profound and multiple needs and those on the autistic spectrum.

You have to be over 16 years old to apply for a place at the centre.

You can make a request for a place, or get someone like a friend, relative, carer or GP to make one on your behalf.

You will be appointed a care manager who will carry out an assessment and arrange a place at the centre, if this is appropriate.

You can attend from a half day a week to several days a week to match your needs and interests, as long as places are available.

For those that have a specific assessed need, Lochlands Resource Centre has a well equipped sensory environment and can access the therapy pool at Rosehill Resource Centre.

There is a charge for attending the centre and you will be assessed to find out how much you will have to pay. If you decide to have the lunch provided, you will also have to pay for this.

Attending the centre will not affect your benefits. You can get benefits advice from our welfare rights team.

Lochlands Resource Centre is accessible by public transport, and by specially adapted vehicles suitable for wheelchairs.

The centre is open Monday to Friday 8.45am to 4pm.

You are very welcome to visit the centre, but please contact the manager on 01241 430027 to arrange a time.

You may want to visit with your care manager or carer.
