We inspect and maintain coast protection structures in our ownership to prevent erosion and damage, and maintain public safety.
We are not obliged by law to protect eroding coastlines. Responsibility for management and prevention of erosion rests with the landowner of the site concerned.
Schemes proposed by landowners require our consent.
