Child disability payment

This is a new benefit from Social Security Scotland and it replaces new claims for Disability Living Allowance for children.  This payment provides support for the extra costs that a child with a disability might have.  You can apply for Child Disability Payment for a child under 16 with mental or physical disabilities and you can also apply for it even if the child's disability has not yet been diagnosed. For more information and how to apply visit mygov.scot

If you require local advice or support with making a Child Disability Payment application, then please contact our welfare rights service Other support to complete the application form is also available from Social Security Scotland’s local delivery service or from Angus CAB.

If you are unhappy with the outcome of a Child Disability Payment award then our welfare rights service or Angus CAB can support you with disputing the decision.
