As the school year ends on Friday 27 June, Cllr Heather Doran, Angus Council’s Convener of Family, Education and Justice, shares a message of appreciation and good wishes to children, young people, families and school staff across Angus.

“As we approach the end of another busy and productive school year, I want to thank all our children, young people, teachers and school staff. Your hard work, dedication and resilience have been inspiring.

“Well done to all our young people who’ve been working hard on their exams – you’ve earned a break! And to our school leavers, ongratulations on reaching this important milestone. Whether you’re heading into further education, training or employment, we wish you every success for the future.

“To our teachers and school staff, thank you. Your continued efforts to support and guide our children and young people make a lasting difference every day.

“With the summer now here, I hope everyone can take time to get outside, whether that’s visiting the beach, enjoying local parks or spending time together with family and friends.

“Don’t forget, there’s a range of free activities running through our holiday food and fun programme, delivered with local organisations.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone back in August, refreshed and ready for the year ahead.”
