Rehousing people affected by Storm Babet

Published on Wednesday 6 December 2023

Our housing recovery team are working hard to get people who were forced out of their homes by Storm Babet into permanent or temporary homes as soon as they can.

It’s a massive task that we are trying to make as quick and as straightforward as we can.

Once people have viewed properties, we’re working with carpet fitting firms to get those properties freshly carpeted. That takes a wee bit of time, given the numbers involved.

We know people are keen to get their keys and get into their new properties as soon as they can, and we’ll contact them once the carpets are down in their new homes.

We are also very aware of people living in upper flats of buildings that have been affected by the flooding. We want to reassure them that we know they have concerns and we will be in touch with them as soon as possible.

If you haven’t spoken to us and have a housing need because of the floods or are looking for an update from us on your circumstances, please get in touch with us. You contact Housing Recovery Team by emailing housingfloodingenquiries@angus.gov.uk

There is a range of support available for affected residents, businesses and, more widely, communities via the Angus Council website.
