Local Place Plans

Contents

Introduction

Local Place Plans are community-led, place-based plans which provide a vision and proposals for future development in their area. This aim of these plans is to provide communities with the opportunity to be more involved in decision-making for the next Local Development Plan and shape their places based on their community’s wants, needs, and aspirations.

These place-based proposals are a way of managing how the land in your area is used in the future, and registered Local Place Plans will be given due consideration in the preparation of the next Local Development Plan for Angus. These plans can be specific to a single place, building, or issue, or cover a wide geographic area, with proposals including, for example, new buildings, housing, walking or cycling routes, preservation of certain buildings or environments, or open space improvement.
