Loss and damage

Please make sure your child takes care of their loaned council instrument. The loaned instrument will be given to your child in fully working condition. We recommend insuring the instrument, for example by listing it on your home insurance.

You must pay for the repair of any damage to the instrument while it's on loan to your child.

If the instrument is lost or damaged beyond repair you must pay for a replacement.

We'll issue you with an invoice for the cost of repair or replacement following any work/procurement. This should be settled as soon as possible.

The cost of any repair or replacement is decided by the Director of Finance or their representative, acting reasonably. Current market prices will apply.

If the cost of the repair or replacement causes you financial concern, we will explore repayment options to help where we can.

Please do not attempt to repair a damaged instrument, or have it repaired by a third party, without getting our advice first.

If a repair is necessary during a school holiday or closure, please contact ACCESSLine.
