COVID-19 guidance
Although the restrictions put in place by The Health Protection (Coronavirus) (Restrictions) (Scotland) Regulations 2020 no longer apply, Covid-19, still remains a public health concern. It is therefore expected that licence holders will comply with up to date public health advice and Scottish Government Guidelines when operating.
If you wish to sell alcohol, your premises must be licensed.
Applications are made to your local licensing board.
You must be 18 years or older to make the application which must include
- a description of the premises,
- an operating plan,
- a layout plan of the premises, and
- certificates for planning, building standards and, if relevant, food hygiene.
Additionally applicants for a new premises licence or a new provisional premises licence require to complete a Disabled Access and Facilities Statement as part of the application process. Failure to lodge the Statement will render the licence application incomplete.
Your premises will also require a personal licence holder to sell and authorise the sale of alcohol.
