You may have heard that Angus is currently running a campaign to become a ‘White Ribbon’ area. The White Ribbon campaign is a male-led campaign against gender based violence. The campaign recognises that most men do not commit violence against women, but all men have a role to play in ending it.

Burnside Primary School in Carnoustie will re-open to all Primary 1-7 classes from Monday, 27 February. Work has been ongoing to assess the level of damage that Storm Otto caused to the school on Friday (17 Feb) and to secure the building so that pupils and staff can return safely.

All Angus Council primary and secondary schools will be closed to children and young people on Tuesday 28 February and Wednesday 1 March 2023. Kingspark School in Dundee will also be closed to those who usually attend.

Resurfacing & drainage work will begin on the A937 at Grampian Growers from Wednesday 22nd February and is scheduled to last for eight working days. The work is being carried out on the main route from Montrose to Aberdeen and will result in some restrictions for vehicular traffic.

Burnside Primary School in Carnoustie suffered serious damage to its roof in the early hours of Friday 17 February 2023 as a result of Storm Otto. An initial assessment has been carried out and confirms that the building is not safe for children and staff to attend in its current condition.

Angus Council is being asked to agree to participating in a Scottish Government pilot to provide short-term modular accommodation for people from Ukraine, displaced due to the ongoing conflict in their home country.
