The public tennis courts in West Links Park, Arbroath have been officially reopened (Monday 11 September) after a £57,198 renovation, managed by Angus Council and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), helping to ensure that quality facilities are available for the local community.

Arbroath’s £12 million Flood Protection Scheme was officially declared open by MSP Máiri McAllan, Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Net Zero and Just Transition, at a ceremony at St Vigeans today.
The Cabinet Secretary was welcomed by Angus Council Chief Executive Margo Williamson and Communities Convener, Cllr Mark McDonald.

Brechin High School is securing a lease of land from Scotia Homes to develop an allotment and food forest for the school and local community to offer rural learning and improve wellbeing and sustainability opportunities.
The school will lease the three acres of land which is near the school at Brechin West for £1 per year.

Angus Council is pleased to announce an upgrade to National Cycle Network Route 1 in Carnoustie. The work comprises of a 450-metre stretch of path between Barry Links and Carnoustie Golf Links practice area and is the first in a series of measures to improve sections of the National Cycle Network in Carnoustie.

Margo has worked for Angus Council since 2013, initially as Strategic Director of People before becoming the first female Chief Executive in Angus in 2017.

This is believed to be because of an outbreak of Avian (or bird) flu.
Wild birds can carry several diseases that are infectious to people.

The 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships Gran Fondo Time Trials will take place in Angus and Dundee on Monday 7 August.
The Gran Fondo Time Trials event will see international elite amateur competitors race a distance of just over 14 miles, against the clock, along the A92 westbound carriageway in Angus.
