A new online jobs portal – Angus Job Search – has been launched by Angus Council, to link people who are unemployed or under threat of redundancy as a result of the outbreak of COVID-19, to job opportunities. It can also be used to match people to volunteering opportunities and placement.

We will offer up to 1140 hours of funded ELC to all three and four year olds, and eligible two year olds from August 2020 as planned. One of the reasons we can do this is because we completed extensions and refurbishments at some of our current nurseries before coronavirus.

Crown Estate Scotland has today announced the purchase of a commercial development site near Montrose, Angus. The 123-acre Zero Four site has been bought by Crown Estate Scotland from ISLA Developments at a cost of £3.7m.

In April, we asked residents to have their say on how £512,000 could be invested in making Angus a more cycle and walking friendly area. The response to the public consultation was tremendous. In all around 300 requests and suggestions were received from individuals, community groups and organisations.

Coin operated parking meters are now available for use at 14 of our off-street car parks in Angus. The solar-powered machines are being introduced in response to public demand and will be at the following car parks – Arbroath - Ladybridge St; Millgate – North Grimsby; West Abbey Street; Shore.

As of this week, drivers paying to park in Angus car parks no longer have to key in their vehicle registration numbers. Engineers have re-programmed all 40 payment meters across the county in a move that will simplify and speed up the payment process.

From 1 April, anyone bringing household waste to any of our seven Angus recycling centres using a trailer, van or commercial-type vehicle will need to have a permit. The permits are free and are only available to Angus residents.
