After completion of a review in 2022, the following Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils was approved by Angus Council on 30 June 2022 and came into effect on 1 August 2022. This scheme provides the framework for the operation of community councils in Angus.
Disqualification of membership is automatic, if a community councillor relocates and renders invalid their residency qualification for membership.
If any community councillor fails to attend any community council meeting, with or without submitting apologies, for a period of 6 months, the community council may terminate their membership.
At the discretion of individual community councils, an approved leave of absence for members may be approved at any meeting of the community council.
