After completion of a review in 2022, the following Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils was approved by Angus Council on 30 June 2022 and came into effect on 1 August 2022. This scheme provides the framework for the operation of community councils in Angus.
The terms for dissolution of a community council are contained within the constitution.
Notwithstanding these terms, should a community council fail to hold a meeting for a period of three consecutive prescribed meeting dates; or its membership falls below the prescribed minimum for a period of three consecutive prescribed meeting dates, despite during which time the community council takes action to address the situation, the council may take action to dissolve that community council.
